Photos are so important when it comes to properties, whether you're putting your home up on the market, or advertising your holiday home/hotel, the first thing someone one sees is the images.

But having good day time shots isn't enough to catch someones eye with so much variety out on the big wide web! So you need that WOW image to capture someones eye, and twilights are the golden shot!

Twilights are my favourite type of shoot to do, the different skies I get to capture, not one night is the same!... But with it being the lake District we all know to well that the weather doesn't always play ball, do not fret! I can work some magic in post production and no one will know any different.

If you are wanting to up your portfolio game then drop me an email.

Meet the very man who has taught me everything I know about photography, my Dad!

My dad, John, used to be a product photographer in London, doing work for such as Barclays Bank, John Smith Beer, and BMW.

Before I joined the family they decided to move up to the Lake District and opened up a holiday letting company, once again his photography skills came into play where he was able to stage and photograph the properties beautifully.

After they deiced to retire and sell the business I deiced I wanted to pick up the camera, falling in love with pet photography originally my dad changed the game for me by introducing me to studio photography. He showed me how to use a camera, light, and how to build sets.

I feel incredibly lucky to have someone believe in me and help me every step of the way, pushing me to go further and expanding my photography skills, starting with pets, I am now able to photograph newborns, people, and interiors!

I can't thank him enough, if it wasn't for his support I wouldn't be the photographer I am today.

I love building my own newborn photography backgrounds, and the Autumn garden was one of my favourites to create. The idea came to me when I came across the little wheelbarrow, I was out looking for baskets, but when I saw the wheelbarrow I knew I had to make a set for this!

Originally my first idea was to create a summer garden set, with sunflowers, pebbles and a watering can, and I did create this set, but when I got back to the studio I saw the beautiful Japanese Maple tree on the drive I knew I wanted to also make an Autumn background. I cut some branches off and started to build, always taking pictures as I built to make sure it looked right on screen. It was looking great but a little dull, I knew I had different props in the summer set so I thought to my self "what is Autumn" and I went straight outside to the apple tree that had dropped a bunch of shiny red apples! After carefully arranging the apples in the basket I still felt it looked a little empty, standing there looking at the set trying to think what else, it clicked, a brush to clear the leaves! But I didn't want a modern rake or broom, so I went looking for a traditional wicker broom.

Once Everything looked right in the camera I started to work on the lighting, I ended up using three Broncolor flash lights, one being a Para133, this was the main light and the other two I used as fill lighting. I took different brackets, putting the power up on the Para only.

After a long day of building I finally had my Autumn garden newborn background!
